Meet the Mama Behind the Dough
Hi there! I’m the heart, soul, and flour-covered hands behind DoughMama.
My story started long before I ever preheated my own oven. I grew up in a small town in Northern Minnesota, raised in the beautiful chaos of the restaurant business. My family owned a 50s-style ice cream parlor and deli, and those early years spent surrounded by the hum of the kitchen and the smell of sweet treats shaped exactly who I am today. With Italian and Scandinavian roots, my kitchen is a place where bold flavors and cozy traditions collide—I have an equal, deep-seated love for both the savory and the sweet.
From Professional Marketing to Personal Passion
I’m a proud MSUM Alum (Go Dragons!) and a marketing professional by trade, but baking has always been the dream I’m determined to turn into a career. Coming from a military family, I value hard work, community, and the power of a shared meal. DoughMama is my way of bringing all those worlds together—using my marketing brain to build a brand, but my "restaurant kid" heart to create food that actually means something.
The "Mama" in DoughMama
When I’m not browning butter or perfecting a "Short-Queen" description, my world revolves around my family. I’m a mom to my energetic son, Deakon, and I’ve got the best support system in my long-time partner, Brian. Completing our crew is our dog, Jack, who is always nearby hoping for a stray crumb.
Everything I bake comes from a place of love for my family and a drive to build something special for our future.
Why I Do It
I believe that a cookie isn’t just a dessert—it’s a conversation starter, a "bless your heart" in edible form, and a way to celebrate life’s biggest (and smallest) moments. Whether you’re here for a custom order of Suga Suga Socialites or a decadent Beach Bum, I’m so grateful to have you along for this journey.
Thanks for supporting this dream. Now, let's get to the good stuff!
With love and a little bit of sass, Alli
